The KC-390 Millennium is the new generation military multi-mission aircraft that brings unrivaled mobility, high productivity and operation flexibility at low operational costs on a single and unique modern platform.
K-390 Millennium also incorporates the latest communication system providing ultimate digital situation awareness and interoperability with other platforms and allies.
Multi-mission capability to perform more with a single aircraft. This provides air forces with optimal fleet performance generated by a cost-effective combination of high availability and productivity.
Building over decades of development experience, the KC-390 Millennium incorporates the most advanced and proven technologies and design concepts. Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, the KC-390 Millennium provides significantly reduced crew workload, efficiency and precision for the mission accomplishment.
The flexible Cargo Handling and Aerial Delivery System (CHADS) supports the handling of a wide range of cargo in different configurations. This support facilitates loading and unloading of vehicles, 463L pallets, Type-V platforms and CDS skid boards, while also supporting automatic airdrop during flight.
The KC-390 Millennium Self-Protection System combines a broad range of Detection & Declaration devices (Radar Warning, Laser Warning and Missile Approach Warning) and capable Countermeasures (Chaff & Flare and DIRCM), enhancing the aircraft security in hostile scenarios. The aircraft also features an On Board Inert Gas Generating System (OBIGGS) to reduce flammability of its fuel tanks as well as fixed and removable ballistic protection in specific areas such as the cockpit and the Loadmaster Station.
Developed according to stringent requirements, the KC-390 Millennium is a transport aircraft with multi-mission capabilities, with a rugged design that withstands operations from semi-prepared and damaged runways, as well as in harsh environments, varying from the hot and humid Amazon forest down to the freezing cold Antarctic continent, as well as in hot and sandy desert conditions.
Designed to operate in
The operational capacity of the KC-390 Millennium on semi-prepared and unpaved airfields is achieved through a combination of a highly capable airframe, and landing gear designed to operate and reduce damage on soft unpaved airfields. The engines are mounted in a forward elevated position to prevent ingress from debris.
The KC-390 Millennium has excellent ground maneuverability and can operate on airfields with limited space for parking or maneuvering and no ground facilities.
Modern structure design ensures strong and durable airframe while not requiring replacement of major airframe components along the aircraft’s life.
Engines are forward-mounted with high ground clearance ensuring unmatched reliability of the FAA Part-33 certified Pratt & Whitney’s most flown engine (+250 million operating hours), in any operating condition.
A Four-Wheel Bogie Type Main Landing Gear provides efficient flotation capabilities for operations on soft airfields (CBR-4) as well as shock absorbing capabilities for operation on damaged runways. It supports deployment of the aircraft to unassisted and remote locations.
The KC-390 Millennium can operate in harsh environments, varying from the hot and humid Amazon forest down to the freezing cold Antarctic continent, as well as in hot and sandy desert conditions.
